 Dionysius Hardwijn (1530-1604/1605) описывает Адриана Изенбрандта как ученика Герарда Давида. Так как нет никаких документальных доказательств того, что Изенбрандт был когда-нибудь учеником Давида, термин «ученик», пожалуй, не следует понимать буквально.
