Gregory Frank Harris

Gregory Frank Harris Tutt'Art@ (1) (214x213, 20Kb)Gregory Frank Harris was born in southern California. His mother was a painter and his father a miner. He also has a twin brother, an entomologist and drummer. He began drawing and sculpting in clay by the age of five. At eight years old he began to sing and play the piano by ear. Throughout junior high and high school he had art and music classes, later studying ceramics and raku firing. After relocating to the East Coast, he studied at the Art Students League in New York before moving to Duxbury, Massachusetts. Mr. Harris later moved to Santa Fe, where he currently lives, and studied at the Fechin Institute in Taos, New Mexico. Gregory Frank Harris's oils and pastels are windows into another time and place, revealing a range of influences from the Barbizon school and painters of the Belle Epoque to French and American Impressionism.
